Initially from Birmingham, Jacob took up the horn aged 15 and shortly after won places to study at all the major UK conservatories. He went on to study at the Royal College of Music, for Undergraduate and most recently Graduating with a Masters with Distinction.
During his time at the RCM Jacob toured with the European Union Youth Orchestra under Bernard Haitink and Vasily Petrenko. Upon graduating in 2018 he has played with orchestras such as London Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Opera and Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden amongst others and has also played principal horn with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and London Chamber Orchestra.
Jacob also has a very keen interest in Chamber music, having travelled to Shanghai to perform Mozart’s wind serenades, Italy to be a part of a wind quintet made up of EUYO alumni and has also performed with the Tony Halstead Horn Ensemble.
